An urgent distress call to provide electrical generators to hospitals in the Gaza Strip

Gaza: Saturday, the Ministry of Health in Gaza launched an urgent distress call to the international community and its international and relief institutions to provide electric generators to hospitals in the Gaza Strip.

The Ministry said in a statement that it has been relying on electric generators for 9 months to supply hospitals with the necessary electrical energy around the clock after the destruction of the only power plant in the Gaza Strip.

It indicated that a number of electrical generators in hospitals were subjected to major technical malfunctions that were difficult to repair, and a number of others were directly destroyed by the brutal occupation.

It is likely that the electrical generators in the remaining hospitals, health centers, and pharmaceutical warehouses will stop as a result of preventing the entry of spare parts needed for their maintenance.

The Ministry of Health said: Stopping the electrical generators means certain death for the sick and injured and the complete end of the healt
h service in the Gaza Strip.

She added: The Israeli occupation forces deliberately destroyed the electrical generators in the Al-Shifa Complex, the Nasser Complex, the Indonesian Hospital, and Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, with the aim of putting them out of service.

She continued: Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital is still working on one generator after one of the two main generators broke down, which threatens a humanitarian catastrophe.

It indicated that it has been continuing its contacts with international institutions, led by the International Committee of the Red Cross, in order to supply new generators and spare parts since the beginning of the aggression, but to no avail as a result of the intransigence of the Israeli occupation
