An Israeli soldier killed in Gaza battles raises the death toll of the occupation army to 646

Baghdad: The Hebrew Channel 7 announced that an Israeli soldier from the Givati Brigade was killed in battles in the Gaza Strip earlier yesterday, Monday.

The channel quoted the “Matti Benjamin” settlement council (which includes 28 settlements in the central West Bank) that the soldier, Yair Lavin, from the Givati Brigade (an Israeli infantry brigade) and a resident of the “Givat Harel” settlement, was killed yesterday, Monday, in a battle in the Gaza Strip, without further details.

According to Israeli army data, the death toll since the beginning of the war reached 646 officers and soldiers, including 294 since the beginning of the ground invasion of the Gaza Strip on October 27 last year.

The Israeli authorities are facing local accusations of covering up a much larger toll of deaths and injuries among the army’s ranks.
