Al Qasimia University, Sharjah Charity International to support Arabic language education programmes


SHARJAH: Al Qasimia University and Sharjah Charity International have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to build the capabilities of national cadres, exchange experiences to support societal goals for sustainable development and implement charitable projects to support programmes for teaching the Arabic language and Holy Qur’anic sciences in Africa.

The MoU was signed on Monday at the university’s headquarters in Sharjah. Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the SCI, and Professor Jamal Al Tarifi, President of Al Qasimia University, signed the agreement in the presence of officials.

Al Qasimi stated that this agreement continues the collaborative efforts between the association and the university, further strengthening their partnership. It also aims to launch educational projects in West African countries to promote the Arabic language and the Holy Qur’an among children and citizens of those countries.

He confirmed that the implementation of the first joint project between the two sides has
been completed, which is a centre for memorising the Holy Qur’an in the Republic of Ghana. Additionally, many educational projects will be implemented in the countries included in the association’s aid programmes. The university will also provide teachers for these centres.

Al Tarifi stated that the MoU aims to facilitate the exchange of professional experiences in training and scientific research. It also seeks to organise scientific conferences and forums to discuss the latest developments and best practices in charitable and humanitarian work.

Additionally, the agreement aims to promote the culture of charitable and volunteer work among Al Qasimia University students, who represent over 123 nationalities from various countries.
