Al-Maliki affirms Iraq’s position rejecting the presence of banned groups and organizations on its territory


Head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, affirmed Iraq’s position rejecting the presence of banned groups and organizations on its territory.

The Coalition stated in a statement: “Al-Maliki met in his office today with the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Anil Bora Inan, and during the meeting, they discussed the latest developments in the political and security situation in the country” and the developments on the Arab and international arenas, especially the events in occupied Palestine and the Gaza Strip and the efforts aimed at stopping the criminal Zionist aggression.

The head of the State of Law Coalition stressed the importance of strengthening and developing bilateral relations in various fields, stressing the importance of following up on the implementation of all bilateral agreements between Baghdad and Ankara, especially with regard to organizing the water file and increasing water flows, as well as security cooperation agreements in border areas, which confirms Iraq’s sovereignty over its
lands and prevents any violations, reiterating Iraq’s position rejecting the presence of banned groups and organizations on its lands.

For his part, the Turkish Ambassador stressed his country’s keenness to develop bilateral relations and cooperation in areas of common interest, which culminated in Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Iraq, praising the positions of the head of the coalition in support of strengthening relations between the two countries.
