ADAFSA obtains global good governance accreditation


ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has been awarded the ISO 37000:2021 Governance of Organisations Certification by the French Bureau Veritas, a trusted international accreditation company. This is in recognition of ADAFSA’s continuous efforts to develop its Integrated Management System (IMS).

This milestone marks a significant stride in ADAFSA’s pursuit of global leadership in food safety. With a total of 14 international standards, it is dedicated to excelling in all facets of its operations. This achievement underscores ADAFSA’s commitment to institutional governance, enhancing performance, and sustaining excellence across all aspects of its work.

ADAFSA earned accreditation after undergoing thorough audits by a team of international experts and assessors from Bureau Veritas. These audits verified that ADAFSA’s operations and services meet international governance standards.

Mouza Suhail Al Muhairi, Deputy Director-General for Regulatory and Administrative Affairs at
ADAFSA, said, ‘This accomplishment signifies international acknowledgement of ADAFSA’s standing in agricultural sustainability and food security. Our organisation, subject to an audit by a reputable international company, has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to global quality standards. The Authority is dedicated to delivering high-quality, efficient services, ensuring food safety in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and cultivating an effective environment to secure its leadership both regionally and globally.’

Al Muhairi emphasised ADAFSA’s commitment to improving corporate governance across all its business units. This includes raising employee awareness of institutional governance principles and standards, creating tools and systems to facilitate their implementation, and conducting regular reviews and evaluations of the corporate governance system across various activities and services.
