Abu Dhabi City Municipality educates residents on fire prevention methods

ABU DHABI: Abu Dhabi City Municipality has urged community members to take precautions against fire hazards in homes, establishments, and shops.

It is important to adhere to safety requirements and regulations in these facilities, provide safety and fire extinguishing equipment, and avoid practices such as storing flammable materials in a way that poses a threat to safety.

During a week-long awareness campaign organised by the Municipal Community Centre in Mohamed bin Zayed City, in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, the slogan “Your Safety is Our Priority” was adopted.

The campaign covered all areas in Mohamed bin Zayed City. It aimed to raise awareness and educate community members about the causes of fires, ways to prevent their effects, and methods of preserving lives and property.

This campaign is part of Abu Dhabi City Municipality’s commitment to engaging with the community, enhancing social responsibility to improve the quality of life, and providing the best safety and secu
rity standards for all residents.

The campaign emphasised the importance of following guidelines and recommendations issued by the competent authorities, particularly the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, to enhance protection for homes, residents, and establishments.

The campaign included organising awareness workshops on fires, their causes, prevention methods, and how to limit their spread. It also taught community members how to use fire extinguishers and provide first aid.

The campaign organisers were keen to raise community awareness by sending instructional text messages, sharing awareness publications on social media platforms and the Municipal Community Centre platform, and collaborating with several schools to spread awareness about fires and how to prevent them.

Additionally, they organised a lecture on the most important safety and fire prevention standards.
