A Turkish soldier died of his wound in northern Iraq

The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced today, Saturday the death of a Turkish soldier, who succumbed to injuries he sustained when an explosive device exploded in northern Iraq, where Turkish forces are carrying out a military operation against Kurdish militants.

The Ministry said in a statement that the soldier, Erkan Seljuk, was seriously wounded by the explosion of a homemade explosive device planted by members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), in the area of Operation “Claw – Lock” on August 25.

The Ministry pointed out that the injured soldier was taken to the hospital, but he died of his wounds, despite all medical attempts to save him. / End
