A cooperation agreement between Tax Authority and Ministry of Interior to combat tax evasion and financial crimes.Cabinet holds weekly meeting to discuss number of important files

The Tax Authority and Ministry of Interior signed yesterday in Tripoli a cooperation agreement to combat tax evasion and financial crimes.

The agreement was signed by the Deputy Director General of the Tax Authority, Omar Al-Zarrouk, and the Head of the Department for Combating Financial Crimes, Money Laundering, and Terrorist Financing at the Ministry, Major General Jamal Al-Mazoughi.

In a statement to Libyan News Agency, Al-Zarrouk said that this agreement comes within a joint cooperative organizational work between the two institutions to enable them to perform their duties, commending the cooperation with the Ministry of Interior to serve the national economy.

For his part, Al-Mazoughi said that the Tax Authority and the Anti-Financial Crimes Authority complement each other’s work, and this agreement serves the nation and combats tax evasion and financial crimes.

The agreement aims to activate joint cooperation between the two parties to preserve public money, achieve national interest, and work to e
nd financial crimes that harm the national economy to ensure the collection of public treasury dues in accordance with applicable legislation.

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli presided over a weekly Cabinet meeting on Wednesday3/1/2023 to discuss an array of political, economic and social files as well as the latest developments in the international arena.

The meeting will also take up a number of issues, including controlling markets and encouraging investment.

Also, work progress at national ventures implemented across the various governorates, including “Decent Life” presidential Initiative to develop the Egyptian countryside will figure high during the meeting.

The meeting will also tackle the implementation of directives of President Sisi regarding following up on decisions of the Supreme Council for Investment, the comprehensive social solidarity umbrella, together with development files covering the State’s health, sports, education and transport sectors, in addition to measures to support and meet citizens’ needs.
