The Wasit Police Command, in cooperation with the Federal Police and Emergency Regiments, launched a wide security campaign that included searching a number of villages and orchards in al- Aziziyah district, north of the governorate.
A source in Wasit Police told the National Iraqi News Agency /NINA: “During the campaign, 19 accused and wanted persons were arrested, and 19 Kalashnikov rifles and various ammunition were seized.”
He added: “The weapons and equipment that were seized were confiscated and legal measures were taken against the accused.”
